Shriya was founded with a vision to create garments that feel like poetry; pieces that honour the body they adorn, carry the gravitas of legacy, and the echoes of lives well-lived. The brand emerged from a love of natural fabrics, timeless silhouettes, and details so intentional they are made slowly by hands.
Every piece in our debut collection is made from 100% silk, inside and out, because true luxury begins with what touches the skin. It is also an ode to craftsmanship that transforms clothing into heirlooms. Shriya’s creations are for women who live and feel deeply; they are designed for those who see clothing not just as adornment, but as an extension of their self-expression.
I have always believed that beauty and joy aren’t things to be postponed for a special occasion, they are meant to be lived in, daily. I find myself drawn to art, culture and the kind of objects made slowly, by hand, that carry with them stories, histories and the touch of communities. Clothes, perfumes, pieces for the home – I collect them as love letters to craftsmanship and as reminders that life is best lived with intention.
For me, dressing up is a ritual. It’s my way of setting the tone for the day, of stepping into main-character energy, no matter how over the top it may seem. This ethos – of not delaying joy – is what led me to leave behind a career as a corporate lawyer, and pursue my master’s at the London School of Economics to eventually create this label: a space for women and artisans to take pride in what they wear and what they make, respectively.
Growing up surrounded by heirlooms like Kanjeevaram silks folded away in cedar trunks, gold zari glinting softly in the light, and embroidery that told stories of human ingenuity. Shriya is my way of passing that legacy forward: to create clothes that will one day be handed down, carrying not just beauty but memory. The name itself carries this spirit: Shriya is the Indian goddess of abundance and prosperity. To me, it represents women feeling full of life and radiant – so abundant in themselves that they celebrate who they are, every single day.
